Denise Caplan is a Principal in the firm’s Corporate Group. She represents private equity investors, businesses and business owners in a broad array of corporate law matters, and regularly advises on corporate start-ups and corporate contracts.

Deni assists clients in the analysis, structuring and documentation of mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and restructurings. She is engaged in structuring corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and other business entities, employment contracting, and capital raising and documentation. In addition she provides general corporate counseling to middle market and large companies on a broad range of issues.

Deni also assists banks and private equity investors in structuring and negotiating their equity investments in companies they are financing.

Deni joined Goldberg Kohn in February 1986. She has been recognized annually since 2016 as a Best Lawyer in Corporate Law by Best Lawyers. She has also been recognized as an Illinois Leading Lawyer by the Leading Lawyers Network, and has been honored annually as an Illinois Super Lawyer since 2007, the later naming her as one of its Top Women Attorneys in Illinois. In 2012, she received the Inspiration Award from the Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law.

Deni is one of the founders and current President of www.gkENGAGE.org, a not-for-profit organization established by the women of Goldberg Kohn that has supported dozens of women-owned businesses and donated to numerous charities in the Chicagoland area. She has been a speaker at the Women’s Business Development Center’s annual Entrepreneurial Women’s Conference.
